Our technology automatically identifies  which channel a consumer prefers, , enabling global reach while reducing the cost of messaging by 90% compared to traditional solutions.

As our first DevRel hire at Sent, you will bridge the gaps between our product and developer community. You will be responsible for improving developer experience, reducing support burden through proactive education, and building developer advocacy initiatives to drive adoption and engagement of our messaging API. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to ensure developers have everything they need to succeed with Sent.

What You'll Do

  • Create and maintain code samples, SDKs, starter repos, and implementation guides that help developers integrate our messaging API effectively

  • Establish and deliver a regular cadence of developer-focused content (blog posts, video tutorials, API guides, migration tools)

  • Collaborate with internal teams to organize our documentation, prioritize content gaps and improvements, and gather developer feedback on API design and functionality

  • Engage with the developer community through conferences, meetups, hackathons, and online forums

  • Build demonstration applications showcasing common messaging patterns (transactional notifications, marketing campaigns, customer support)

  • Monitor and respond to developer questions across GitHub, Stack Overflow, Discord, and other community channels

  • Partner with GTM team to provide technical expertise during customer implementations and create sales enablement materials

  • Track and report on developer satisfaction metrics, API usage patterns, and community growth

About You

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy, technical evangelism, solutions engineering, or similar developer-facing role

  • Strong programming skills in multiple languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, etc.) with proven ability to build production applications

  • Deep understanding of APIs, webhooks, and messaging technologies (SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner

  • Experience creating technical content that developers actually use and share

  • Passion for building and engaging with developer communities

  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address developer pain points

  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate with others, and work effectively in a cross-functional environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CPaaS platforms (Twilio, MessageBird, SendGrid)

  • Active presence in developer communities (GitHub, Twitter, dev.to)

  • Conference speaking experience

  • Understanding of messaging compliance and deliverability

  • Previous experience at an API-first company

What makes this role special:

Massive Market Opportunity: Every business needs to communicate with customers. You'll help developers build the infrastructure that powers billions of messages daily.

  • Competitive Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000 base salary based on experience
